ABSTRACT
Responding to a personal frustration in not finding much content made by Latin American and Caribbean photographers, I began to conduct my own research with the purpose of creating an online platform to access all the content in English and Spanish. In 2015, I launched Foto Féminas, an online platform to promote the works of Latin American women photographers. As we have grown in our digital space, I have also pursued a mission to be present at international photography festivals, exhibitions, and discussions. Foto Féminas also started a photobook library by Latin American women photographers, which has been displayed at different international book fairs with the constant purpose of promoting and distributing their work. The library has also become a resource to talk about Foto Féminas. In this chapter, I will outline the origins, developments, and achievements of Foto Féminas and bringing Latin American women photographers to a wider audience.
