ABSTRACT
This practice note provides a practitioner’s perspective on how resource developers can generate meaningful community engagement outcomes. Insights drawn from practice and theory are shared, drawing on the author’s experiences as a current mining industry consultant in northern Canada and in academia. It includes a discussion of principles and actions that encourage successful results, and those that may lead to greater conflict and uncertainty.
