ABSTRACT

“Metropolitan streets” is a concept for interpreting the urbis form of complex supra-municipal territories. It identifies, on the one hand, the enabling infrastructures of the inter-municipal relationship and of the territorial mosaic city. At the same time, it is a device for addressing the metropolitan regeneration project. From a renewed systemic vision, we propose the retrofitting of many of the great traces of the metropolis to integrate, in the current technical infrastructures, metabolic, ecosystemic, informational, patrimonial, and landscape recomposition attributes.
