ABSTRACT
The design of the built environment, from the residential living and care environment to the neighbourhood and urban environment, is important from the perspective of people living with dementia. In this contribution, we share preliminary and informal insights based on our co-research project INCLUDE. Together with co-researchers living with dementia, we explored how they experience their living environment. We were interested in how people living with dementia evaluate spatial orientation and wayfinding within their neighbourhood. Providing preliminary insights, we advocate that it is important to include people living with dementia in research targeted on evaluating the built environment.
