ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I explore news framing of reproductive feminicides through the lens of critical, intersectional health communication and journalism praxis. This methodological case study will illustrate how feminist news framing practices and principles elucidate the ways in which gendered violence is represented in contemporary news outlets in Latin American contexts. Further, it will provide a set of best practices for public health practitioners, journalists, and health communication practitioners regarding framing health messages that focus on gender-based violence in the mass media.
