ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to identify and evaluate linkages between announced targets for energy transition and the spectrum of existing policy landscape to support the transition. It covers prominent legislations, policies, schemes, and regulations across carbon-intensive sectors and various ministries of the Government of India. The chapter assesses the policy landscape for its objectives, governance mechanisms, tools of regulation and impact thus far, and makes key recommendations emerging from the analysis.
