ABSTRACT

This work analyses the syntactic distribution of the evaluative construction <lo + evaluative adjective + (copulative verb) + sentence> in a type of digital discourse. For this purpose, we have taken the list of syntactic relations stipulated by traditional grammar and explored those cases in which the construction is joined to other discourse segments by means of a conjunctive nexus. The results show that this construction is used in copulative, adversative, conditional, concessive, causal and illative relations. An explanation is offered for all of them from a macrosyntactic point of view, in such a way that the presence of the construction in these types of relations obeys the different roles it has in the argumentative structure deployed in the text.
