ABSTRACT

In this research, the author qualitatively analyzes the modal relations established between initiative and reactive interventions in communicative exchanges in which the first member configures a proposal for action. To do this, it takes as reference the communicative exchanges collected in the WhatsApp section of the MEsA Corpus and starts from the concept of preference. This research aims to examine what the possible interactive relations are in this type of exchanges and through what linguistic means they are expressed in reactive interventions: phoric signals, discursive markers or other free or semi-fixed linguistic expressions. All of this is done through the theoretical framework of Macrosyntax, developed through Pragmatic Linguistics.
