ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to characterize the concept of exemplification, pointing out the similarities and differences with other processes of discursive formulation, to explain what its constitutives elements are, its distinctive features and the paradigm of linguistics signs that can establish this discursive relationships, as well as to carry out a specific analysis of a prototypical exemplification marker, por ejemplo, to determine its distributional features, its semantic and pragmatic values and its discursive functions. The theoretical assumptions on which the research is based are the contributions that expand the scope of grammar to the discourse level and the empirical basis are the materials provided by Corpes XXI with the choice of the texts belonging to the written modality of European Spanish.
