ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the pervasive issues of biases in digital and AI technologies, specifically exploring the intersectionality of gender and language biases. It contends that the prevalent biases, deeply ingrained in these technologies, demand a nuanced approach that goes beyond traditional feminist perspectives. The incorporation of intersectionality is presented as a pivotal principle in public policies, extending its relevance to diverse studies, including those addressing linguistic biases. Rather than advocating for extensive and intricate regulations, the chapter emphasizes embedding intersectionality strategically in public policies. The proposed gender+ perspective, extending beyond conventional boundaries, seeks to address the distinct challenges faced by various groups, such as transgender individuals and other gender minorities. Such an approach is particularly crucial in the rapidly evolving field of digital and AI technologies, where language and gender biases persistently pose significant challenges. By championing a comprehensive understanding of social reality through the intersectionality lens, the chapter aims to guide the formulation of inclusive and effective public policies across diverse domains.
