ABSTRACT
This introduction presents the rationale behind exploring the parliamentary dimension of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE) and outlines the objectives and research questions addressed in this collected volume. It provides an overview of the current state-of the-art and existing scholarship on the CoFoE, including representation and participation in EU multi-level democracy more broadly. It outlines how this volume contributes to the field and offers fresh perspectives on the study of EU democracy. We present a short discussion of the analytical and conceptual framework of the book (presented in more detail in Chapter 1), and its research methodologies, including the case selection, and data sources. The introduction finishes with a brief overview of the substantive chapters and their main findings.
