ABSTRACT
This chapter synthesizes this book’s key insights into the lives of sexually and gender diverse (SGD) adolescents, across four core themes: Family, peer, intimate, and school relationships; societal, community, and social media influences; affirming and trauma-informed care; and critical perspectives on risk and resilience. It emphasizes the crucial role of family acceptance, inclusive education, supportive laws, and safe online spaces in fostering resilience among SGD youth. It also highlights the importance of affirmative healthcare and the need to challenge traditional research paradigms. By adopting an intersectional and interdisciplinary approach, this chapter underscores the significance of creating inclusive environments that support the well-being and identity development of SGD adolescents, advocating for a more equitable society.
