ABSTRACT
In the pursuit of equitable education, this chapter addresses systemic disparities hindering children's holistic development, especially in marginalized communities. It examines challenges like monetary disinvestment and misallocation of funds, focusing on their detrimental effects, including the perpetuation of the school-to-prison pipeline. Advocating for a Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach, the chapter suggests alternatives to punitive measures, such as restorative justice and youth development programs. Real-world examples underscore the potential for transformative change grounded in equity, justice, and opportunity. Through collective action and a commitment to PYD, inclusive educational environments can be created, enabling every child to thrive.
