ABSTRACT

This chapter contributes to literature on the social impact of service sector organizations on their employees, considering the Covid-19 pandemic period. It hypothesized and tested how work-life balance (WLB) and job security (JS) changed over time and how both phenomena were interrelated. This chapter applied a longitudinal research approach to collect data from employees in Poland, taking into consideration the following periods: before the pandemic (T0), the pandemic (T1), and after the pandemic (T2). It demonstrates that JS decreased after T0 and increased after T1; WLB did not decrease after T0 and after T1. Moreover, it partially confirmed hypotheses which assumed that JS and WLB at an earlier point in time were positively related to subsequent JS and WLB. Finally, it demonstrates that JS at an earlier point in time was partially positively related to subsequent WLB. These findings lead to both practical and theoretical implications.
