ABSTRACT
This chapter delves into the narrative of artistic production in Portugal since the onset of the current century. The scope encompasses the creative output of both native Portuguese artists and foreign residents in Portugal, a cohort that has undeniably shaped the country's demographic landscape since the turn of the century. In the concluding section of this chapter, attention is shifted towards the imperative of determining the scale of artistic production, distribution and reception within the nation.
