ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a role play based on a true story in a sustainability context, involving published pieces of marine research. The semi-structured role play serves to introduce students to drama techniques while exploring why the river has turned red. Here, the role play involves multiple emotionally charged perspectives together with the cognitive challenge of attempting to resolve the ecological problem. The roles of scientific knowledge, scientific literacy, and ethical considerations are discussed.
