ABSTRACT
This chapter offers practical advice to help higher education teachers set up safe, enjoyable, and inclusive spaces for drama and performance activities. This chapter introduces core principles underpinning a typical session to benefit the non-specialist teacher, offers how-to guidance on setting up the teaching room for drama and performance, and provides advice on key ethical issues to consider when planning a session around emotional well-being, group dynamics, power and status, participation, consent, and managing differing learning needs and dis/abilities. Finally, this chapter will offer suggestions for further exploration of drama to support learning, teaching, and assessment as an impactful approach to sustainability education.
