ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to provide an overall synthetic analysis of the experimental demonstrations of the UNCHARTED project, whose objective was to validate the results of various research tasks carried out in the project, in several concrete experiments and demonstrations in collaboration with citizens, professionals, administrators, and policymakers, covering the three axes where the development of cultural values was studied, namely, cultural strategic planning, culture-led urban regeneration, and cultural information systems. As this area of work proposed a pragmatist approach, with a focus on co-creation approaches, our methodology was principally focusing on the modalities of how cultural policies and valuation strategies could be developed in co-creation processes. Thus, this chapter summarizes the research findings of various experimental demonstrations, where the partners analysed main and control cases in different arenas of co-creation, presenting various politico-administrative contexts, assessing the impacts of the methodologies used, and exploring further research directions of the three broad fields/axes.
