ABSTRACT
Jesus’ daily labor in Nazareth remains a lesser-explored yet profoundly significant facet of his life, carrying deep theological implications. Though the Gospels offer no details about this phase of his life, much can be inferred about its significance through a theological reading of the texts. Jesus, identified as the “offshoot” and totally consecrated to God, lived in intimate relationship with the Father even in his daily work. His daily existence was imbued with his filial consciousness and his salvific mission. This aspect has been emphasized by contemporary theology, which recognizes in the hidden life of Jesus the divine revelation and the deepest understanding of his saving work. Although history does not give us many details about his work in Nazareth, his transcendent meaning as the Son of God and Savior of the world illuminates his daily work, making it a reflection of his relationship with the Father and his love for humanity.
