ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the value of artificial intelligence technologies in assessing complex social phenomena, emphasizing methodological innovation and tool development for understanding large-scale events. Using machine learning and text analysis tools, we present a case study on the Russia–Ukraine conflict. Our investigation delves into the potential of these technologies to comprehend public reactions to sanctions against Russia, focusing on digital perceptions of the conflict, emotional responses to sanctions, and the reliability of ICTs in analyzing digital contexts. This research underscores the role of technology in informing policymaking amidst evolving global scenarios.
