ABSTRACT
International Environmental Agreements are legally binding treaties that address global environmental issues. They play a key role in international environmental law, creating institutions like conferences and advisory bodies to shape global governance. Despite their significance, international environmental agreements face challenges in compliance and implementation, leading to conflicts and inconsistencies. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to address these issues, promoting synergy between international environmental agreements and sustainable development. However, the fragmented structure of international environmental agreements and SDGs complicates their coordination. To improve outcomes, a long-term vision with overarching goals is essential for both frameworks to work harmoniously.
