ABSTRACT
This chapter explores how equity was centered in the RPP composed of researchers at University of Texas at El Paso and practitioners at San Elizario Independent School District. Utilizing the framework developed by the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium at Virginia Commonwealth University focused on how research-practice partnerships (RPPs) navigate issues of equity, members of the RPP individually and collectively reflect on their RPP process. Anchoring on the framework’s key elements, practitioner and research perspectives are presented, highlighting the intersection and divergence of the views. We also discuss the region’s sociopolitical and socioeconomic context and the impact of each partnering organization’s characteristics on the RPP.
