ABSTRACT

The dynamics of the global order are evolving by the growing roles of China and Russia in competition with the United States. Following the book’s conceptual framework, this chapter analyses Iran’s envisioned trajectory within the global order, as articulated by various governments since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Within Iran, while both presidential and Supreme Leader perspectives have shaped the country’s vision of global order, ultimate priority is given to the Supreme Leader’s views. This chapter explores Iran’s future path in the global order through the statements and policies of its key leaders across different governments. It examines how Iranian policymakers perceive Iran’s role in the shifting global order and investigates how they are beginning to articulate a vision for a post-polar world.
