ABSTRACT

In organisations, various Communities of Practice (CoPs) – a constellation of communities of practice or practitioners – can be found, in which the members share their knowledge and know-how, learning new practices and exploring them in their daily work. This chapter discusses how to define CoPs, what their most relevant elements and characteristics are, and how they have unfolded in the RESET project context. It highlights the importance of CoPs and the meaning of those formal and informal gender change agents to higher education institutions (HEIs) at every stage of a project, during and after its completion. I will also examine how these CoPs can be sustainable beyond the project’s conclusion fostering the development and expansion of their expert networks.
