ABSTRACT
A significant innovation in RESET is the commitment of seven university rectors to inclusive scientific excellence, culminating in the signing of a joint statement. This political statement addresses the perceived neutrality of scientific excellence and outlines conditions to make it more equitable. The RESET joint statement proposes actions at three levels: constitutional, operational, and decision-making. Its purpose is to develop and adopt inclusive institutional practices and frameworks for recruitment, career progression, work–life balance, and excellent research schemes. Each of these aspects is accompanied by new indicators that need to be integrated in order to make the assessment of excellence more inclusive. This chapter presents the guidelines and indicators for inclusive scientific excellence to which the RESET university rectors have committed themselves. It will also present the methodology used to draw up this declaration in two stages: first, the general principles and then the corresponding indicators, using the example of the University of Bordeaux.
