ABSTRACT
Education for peace, mutual comprehension, and understanding is undoubtedly an educational obligation and a challenge of the 21st century. A world dominated by modern technologies and multiple means of communication brings both challenges and opportunities. In this context, social media are an integral part of life and significantly influence social, political, and cultural attitudes. The authors of the chapter indicate the positive and negative consequences of the use of the Internet and mobile technologies (social media) in peace education, the realization of human rights, and the need for reasonable, pedagogical use of them in social education to promote peace. Additionally, the importance of social media in shaping peaceful and moral attitudes is underscored.
