ABSTRACT

This chapter draws attention to the need to implement education for peace demonstrating that it is, among other things, part of education for sustainable development. A broad understanding of education for peace has been adopted, considering the five levels (circles) proposed by Navarro-Castro and Nario-Galance. The essential goal is to justify conducting educational activities aimed at the formation of peace competencies in a knowledge society. In this context, the role of knowledge and axiology in the process of building a culture of peace is highlighted.
