ABSTRACT
Peace is a subject of research in many scientific disciplines and a crucial element of everyday life. Peace is not only the absence of war but, above all, the presence of positive values such as justice, empathy, and mutual respect. Education for peace should, first and foremost, restore the meaning of life and a sense of value to individuals. The essence of education lies in building lasting peace worldwide. Education for peace is a long-term process built on understanding others, empathy, and brotherly love, which leads to meaningful dialogue. The aim of this chapter is to present the intellectual foundations of various visions and concepts of education for peace, emphasising the belief in the inalienable value of dialogue. Dialogue involves the need to come closer to each other, express opinions, listen to one another, and seek common ground.
