ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the findings of two comprehensive review studies: a review of review studies (an umbrella review), and a systematic review that synthesizes research findings about Widening Participation (WP) strategies and student ambassadors’ outreach practices and their impacts. The two studies were undertaken to identify effective approaches to working with student ambassadors to enable them to effectively support school students from underrepresented groups in progressing to and accessing HE, alongside developing knowledge and skills for themselves. The findings are organized into three parts: the findings of the umbrella review; the findings of the systematic review; and the practical implications drawn from these findings.
