ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to provide a compact state of the art to identify what we know about student attitudes and behaviour towards the European Union (EU), the blind spots and hypotheses that remain to be explored, and the assessment that can be derived from relevant research in this field. As qualitative studies on student opinion per se are relatively scarce, this chapter has a broader focus and starts with young people’s views of Europe, to focus in the following parts on students’ more specific perceptions of the EU and ending with more particular cases of students who in their studies partly focus on the EU.
