ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter discusses the concepts of health, based on the bio-psycho-social model, and salutogenesis with regard to the work and life situation of interpreters. A reflective understanding of health and factors influencing health can enable interpreters to act in an informed and self-responsible way to protect and enhance their health. Mental and external resources can be used in ways which enable them to manage resources and cope with potential stressors and challenges in a resilient manner. Work can be organized in ways that encourage and empower individuals to react flexibly, receive support in adverse conditions, and participate in shaping a health promoting working environment.
