ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a guide to the project's methodology in practice. It begins by outlining the research approach and explaining why participatory filming was selected as the preferred method, building on the insights discussed in earlier chapters. It then provides a detailed description of the methodological approach, intended to assist other researchers interested in adopting similar methods in their own projects. This chapter highlights the key elements involved in developing a remote/hybrid participatory methodology, including the challenges of engaging participants as co-researchers from a distance, conducting online training and research, and addressing the limitations of a remote research design. It also explains how a hybrid design in this project successfully addressed those challenges. Finally, this chapter reflects on the benefits and difficulties of working in a remote and online environment, particularly in relation to issues of participation and power, and considers the potential of a hybrid participatory research approach for future projects.
