ABSTRACT

Despite the abundant natural endowment on the African continent, it faces several challenges, such as poverty, corruption, political instability, and social inequality. Although decades of development efforts have been made, these issues persist and necessitate a more effective approach to fostering positive change. Our discussion of moral capital in this chapter focuses on how it intersects with leadership as an effective solution to Africa’s complex problems. In this chapter, we further delved into the role of leadership in cultivating moral capital within African societies and its potential to bring about sustainable solutions to the continent’s problems. Through examining case studies and drawing on theoretical frameworks, we highlighted how a focus on moral values and ethical leadership can contribute to transformative change and pave the way for a brighter future in Africa.
