ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Tarcisius Kabutaulaka’s PACS602 graduate class considers how Pacific Island countries and Pacific peoples respond to partner involvement in security cooperation. They critique common colonial constructions of cooperation and security, highlighting the strength of the ocean and its peoples through the counter-mapping of the Blue Pacific narrative. The power of this chapter is in its unity amongst a diverse Oceanic authorship, emulating the strength of diversity in the Blue Pacific itself.
