ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Bianca Haas, Kamal Azmi, Kerrie Robertson, Transform Aqorau and Quentin Hanich discuss the intersecting issues of climate, human security, environmental and resource security and transnational crime in security cooperation over the oceans. Their discussion of the governance of fisheries across large exclusive economic zones illustrates the intersecting issues of climate change, human security, environmental and resource security and transnational crime. It also shows the multiplicity of institutions and their roles in this space – highlighting the strength of regionalism in protecting a vast ocean.
