ABSTRACT

In the era of globalisation, environmental communication plays an important role not only in the political sphere, but also in the social and cultural spheres. Deepening social inequalities in access to resources, prolonged armed conflicts – from Ukraine to the Middle East – and the competition for natural resources in Africa and South America, along with the advancing anthropogenic climate change, mean that more effective, fair and ethical communication is needed to overcome this multi-crisis. We strongly believe that implementing more effective environmental communication in core sectors could become a catalyst for global transformation. Although environmental issues are often securitised or overshadowed by political conflicts, in our book, we wanted to show that climate and environmental communication can overcome these obstacles and adapt to changing social needs.
