ABSTRACT
The theme of International Women's Day 2024 was to ‘embrace equity’. We were encouraged to imagine a gender-equal world free from bias, one that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. Yet, it is apparent to all that this kind of world is some way away. During the last year, we have witnessed multiple inquiries highlighting sobering evidence of discriminatory cultures and behaviours in high profile organisations in every part of the world and in a variety of sectors, including business, sport, the media and within our governments and public services. And a plethora of reports have been published in response, recommending rapid and radical structural and cultural change to ensure that organisations and their workplaces become more equal and inclusive.
