This chapter comprehensively analyses the current status of the Republic of Korea's film industry and provides an outlook for its development. The chapter first reviews the poor performance of the Republic of Korea's Mid-Autumn Festival box office in 2023, revealing the long-term impact of the pandemic on the film market and the challenges faced by film investment. It also deeply explores the competitive landscape of the Republic of Korea's online video platform market, especially the dominance of Netflix and the development strategies of the local video platforms. Finally, it reviews the severe challenges faced by the traditional cinema industry and emphasises the importance of government policies in enhancing the competitiveness of the industry. Overall, under the dual drive of government policy support and market diversification, along with the emergence of innovative content, the Republic of Korea's film industry will enter a new round of growth opportunities.
