ABSTRACT
Teens frequently seek out information online for sexual health. Based on a thematic analysis of more than 300 young adults’ open-ended responses to a question about what information they wish they had online related to sexual health as teens, the researchers found that young adults felt that there was a significant lack of comprehensive, realistic, and inclusive content. The study highlights the need for digital sexual health resources that provide practical guidance on sexual activities, accurate representations of sexual anatomy, and inclusive sexuality and sexual health discourse. The authors suggest that there is a need to advocate for a deliberate shift toward developing content that is more inclusive, comprehensive, and tailored to the needs of users.
