ABSTRACT
Whilst the need for food systems transformation is being increasingly recognised, it is difficult for transformation to happen within the dominant paradigm of unfettered economic growth. Progress is hindered by entrenched power structures that severely limit the capacity of stakeholders to create change. External solutions are not by themselves enough to bring about systemic change. There is a need for investments in building and cultivating the inner capacities of individuals, groups and institutions that comprise them. The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) was launched in 2022. Convened by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), CoFSA supports the cultivation of inner capacities of food systems stakeholders as a key complementary approach for food systems transformation.
