ABSTRACT
Education provides people the opportunity to succeed in life. It works well for the young because what students learn in school follows them throughout adulthood. Education also helps those in their twilight years rediscover life’s deeper meanings. As a teacher and researcher, I followed the COVID-19 impact on society. COVID-19 forced social isolation in opportunity at home and in school. This chapter reports the relationship between lifelong learning and opportunities, especially in concerned homes, schools, neighborhoods, and workplaces. According to social theorists, these places are where upward mobility is fostered. Reorganizing post-pandemic models to assist people reach their aspirations is the way to reshape educational learning. This chapter suggests that COVID-19 accelerates the coming metaverse of knowledge that provides new meaning to lifelong learning. The new digital education model linked to technology offers greater opportunity for the youth and seniors to improve, as the metaverse has the scope to raise efficiency and fairness among future generations.
