ABSTRACT
Social stratification and mobility exist in all societies. Within the social sector, education is a powerful mechanism that provides upward mobility, inclusive diversity, and dynamic enterprise. Across individuals, communities, and nations, education allows skill-job training and flexible learning models to improve knowledge and problem-solving skills. These activities represent social opportunities to improve life chances. Educational opportunity also allows lifelong learning for all age groups. It also plays an important part in creating ambition and lifetime goals early in life, which increases access to information, talent, and new experience. Remote and blended learning techniques resulting from COVID-19 social isolation help create new models, especially in post-secondary education. New educational teaching-learning methods both in and out of school are taking advantage of technological innovation in the ICT digital space. This mix of real and virtual experiences in the chapter can provide cognitive and emotional skills in communication and problem solving needed for social mobility at all levels of schooling. Six essays follow telling how COVID-19 affected educational opportunity and social mobility around the world.
