ABSTRACT

This chapter examines Indonesia's maritime security challenges amidst its vast archipelagos. Despite notable efforts, gaps exist, notably in addressing marine environmental issues, and climate change. This chapter underscores the need to bridge this gap and questions Indonesia's approach to conflict resolution under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Emphasising the multifaceted nature of blue security, it highlights its critical role in safeguarding national interests, promoting sustainable development, and preserving Indonesia's marine environment.
