ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the topic of Nordic Cooperation in Security and Defence, focusing on the case study of the aerial cooperation of the two Nordic countries Sweden and Norway. In this regard, the chapter explores the extent of the differentiated alignment evident in the chosen case study, identifying various relevant lessons learned for differentiation. Accordingly, the case illustrates the enabling effect of common cultural and previous cooperation experiences in strengthening collaboration. Another significant factor is flexibility in commitments within the differentiation framework, allowing greater manoeuvre and adjustments of the activities and initiatives as the time and situation require. Overall, this chapter provides a strong case in support of effective differentiation in the defence and security field.
