ABSTRACT

Using the Global Digital Health Index methodology, this chapter discusses a comprehensive analysis of the healthcare system in Poland in terms of its digital state in seven areas. The state of Poland’s digital health development is assessed using a variety of sources on a scale of 1–5 in each of 23 key indicators. The study assesses Poland’s performance in digital health as generally strong, with an overall performance 3.45 out of 5. In comparison to other developed countries, Poland often matches or surpasses the scores, particularly in the following areas: Leadership & Governance, Strategy & Investment, Standards & Interoperability, Infrastructure, and Services & Applications. Areas for improvement include Legislation, Policy, & Compliance, and particularly Workforce development. The results of this study can be used by economists and policymakers in designing programs for digital health development.
