ABSTRACT
The Christie DLP Digital Cinema Projector is a DCI-compliant projector using a Texas Instruments 1.2” 2K 3-chip DMD DLP chip, intended for normal cinema use, offering a resolution of 2048 x 1080 pixels and able to fill a screen measuring up to 70 ft (21.3 m). Described by its manufacturer as “the workhorse of the industry,” it also looks to potentially changing standards, being upgradable in situ to 4k resolution should this become the new exhibition norm, is 3D ready, and can be adapted for HFR (high frame rate) presentation. Measuring 19 x 25 x 46 inches (48.3 x 63.5 x 106.9 cm), it is compact, ergonomic in design, and accepts a range of lamps.
