ABSTRACT
Vernacular resilience is articulated as cultural enactments of local values in this chapter. Art projects, which are considered provocative and pragmatic resources for survival and transformation for communities facing disasters and natural hazards, are the vehicles for this exploration. Art is proposed as a tool for rebuilding and recollection, with creativity and aesthetic imagination as essential to a shared cultural heritage that is vital to collective resilience.
