ABSTRACT

In the present era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, productivity and human life on earth cannot be imagined without electricity. Today’s electrical power system is facing numerous challenges which includes age-old equipment, continuous growing demand for electricity even from remote areas and conservation of natural resources. Microgrid with Distributed Generation is one of the solution for these challenges which meets the local demands and is parallel with existing utility grids. There are certain technical issues to be considered in these distributed generation systems. One of the major technical issues will be of electrical protection, which needs to be analysed critically. The protection issue of the chemical industry, whose incoming grid power is integrated with solar PV power, has been selected for the case study.
