ABSTRACT

With the advances in energy technology, the centralized power generation is now disintegrated with distributed generation (DG). The DG improves the power quality and it is proving beneficial for the environment also. The different optimization models are recently introduced for the economic dispatch of this DG to meet the demand efficiently. In this paper, the case of DG installed industrial building is studied and various parameters are simulated with the RETScreen model. The feasibility study is done on the basis of techno-economic analysis and numerous implications are determined. The results indicate that with the RETScreen model, fuel consumption and carbon emission are reduced by 32.1% and 13% respectively.
