ABSTRACT

The requirements and complexity of images have increased in this digital era. The maximum number of applications starting from social media, security and healthcare heavily rely on images. Somehow it is not practical to capture an image without noise or to avoid the noise during the process of transmission and compression. So, research in this field is still in high demand and a variety of different algorithms are available for greyscale image denoising. It is a crucial task to identify the required method for desired results. In this comparative analysis comparison of various denoising methods has been discussed along with the results of the PSNR parameter. To ensure the performance versatility of these methods denoising is performed on images affected by different levels of noise. Finally, we present promising future work directions.
